External Insulation Cladding
THE ECO-FRIENDLY SOLUTION TO UPGRADING YOUR HOME.....
External Cladding and Insulation
Have you ever wanted to change the look of your park home, lodge or static caravan and at the same time increase its value? Would you like to eliminate external maintenance costs, make your home warmer and save money in the long run? - then consider external cladding - adding a layer of insulation and a new external wall to your home.
Park homes, park lodges and static caravans come in a variety of finishes from thermoplastic stipple render, aluminium, vinyl and wood cladding and our own preference, Canexel Ridgewood cladding from Canada.
CanExel prefinished cladding is produced from wood fibre, resin, and wax fused under pressure. This engineered wood cladding is highly stable, as well as highly resistant to moisture. In short, it does more with less…naturally. Moreover, CanExel cladding is finished in the factory, resulting in durable, easy maintenance products with all the beauty and nobility of wood.
CanExel cladding products are subjected to a continuous quality control process, from forest to finish. Rigorous testing helps assure that each product meets the highest standards of quality.
The finish on CanExel cladding consists of five coats of baked-on paint, and a sealer providing increased resistance to cracking, splitting, warping, splintering and buckling of the substrate.
CanExel cladding has been subjected to outdoor testing in seven different climates throughout North America. It has been shown to withstand the intense cold of the Canadian north, the tropical humidity of Florida, the scorching heat of the Arizona desert, the salty air of the Nova Scotia seacoast and the winds that sweep the Saskatchewan prairies so we have no worries about its performance in the Scottish climate.
Additionally, in every climate zone, CanExel cladding is subjected to UV resistance tests using 45º tilt walls that triple the damaging effects of the sun to which 90º walls would normally be exposed. In every instance, CanExel products have withstood the most extreme conditions without damage to the substrate.
All this said it is no wonder that Canexel offer a 15-year limited warranty against cracking, deflection, and hail damage as well as a 10-year limited warranty on the finish. Call us on 01506 530344 for a full description and initial estimate.
How does it work? Lets tell the story with a few real pictures from a real home in the Scottish Borders.
1) Take an ordinary park home finished with thermoplastic render.......
2) Check for any structural defects (such as previous water damage+ and put these right first.....
3) Prepare the structure by applying a film of high performance insulation to reduce heat loss and noise penetration...
4).... then fix timber strapping to the structure to support the cladding
5) Next fit window trim
6) Now comes the actula cladding boards....
.....fitted together tongue and groove and supported by a starter strip at the botton of each wall and building up to the finished product
(Actually it is a bit more complicated than this but you get the general picture)
Park Homes Scotland Ltd is the main distributor of 'Canexel' and 'Naturetech' products in Scotland and are the only qualifid installers trained by the UK supplier of thee products. With numreous cladding projects under their belts it is no wonder our customers are the first to recommend us.
Take Mrs Gaunt from Portpatrick; she spoke to us recently saying " My cladding project has now given me peace of mind against future maintenance. My home is much warmer and quieter and as for your boys - they worked through some horrendous weather and were brilliant."
'Canexe'l and 'Naturetech' cladding products come in a variety of colours and finshes. The gallery below illustrates some of our other projects; click on the pictures to enlarge them. To talk about your particular project or for more information, call us now on 01501 228687 but don't leave it too long.
